Danny Meehan is one of the greatest living exponents of the trad fiddling playing of Donegal, a colourful character renowned for his great wit and humour. Danny, like many of his fellow countrymen and musicians, emigrated to London in the '50's and was to become one of hte most highly regarded musicians in the thriving traditional music scent which evolved in London in the '60's and '70's regarded by many as one of the great periods of Irish music. He is most remembered for his work with 'Le Ceilidhe' along with PJ Crotty (flute), Raymond Roland (accordeon) and Liam Farrell (guitar). Danny will be joined by a host of musicians, friends and singers. Also tommorrow tow other great fiddlers from the London era Brian Rooney and John Carty will perform an early evening gig, exponents of Leitrim and Sligo styles respectively. A trip down memory lane and a real treat for lovers of great fiddle music.
